Guide For Dissolution And Operation Of Polyacrylamide (PAM)

May 12, 2021

1) PAM is an organic polymer chemical, which can be divided into cation polyacrylamide, positive ion polyacrylamide and non positive ion polyacrylamide, which is white powder or particle, and can dissolve water, but the dissolution rate is relatively slow;

2) Cationic polyacrylamide is generally used as coagulant for sewage treatment, and positive ion type is generally used for sludge treatment;

3) The amount of the coagulant is generally 1-2ppm, that is, the amount of sewage drug per ton of solution is about 1-3g;

4) When applied, cation type is generally configured as 0.1% up and down solution, and positive ion type can be configured as 0.1% - 0.5%;

5) When configuring water solution, water shall be drained in the dissolving tank, then the agitator shall be opened, and PAM shall be added slowly along the vortex. PAM can not be invested rapidly at one time, otherwise PAM will form "fish eye lens" without dissolving;

6) After the PAM is filled, it should be mixed again for 30min to ensure its sufficient dissolution;

7) The PAM after dissolution should be used as early as possible, and the cation type generally does not need to exceed 36h. After the positive ion type is dissolved, it is very easy to hydrolyze and be applied within 24 hours.
